昨天去鲁甸拜访了和桂生东巴大师.和桂生出生于鲁甸的一个东巴世家，自幼在本民族传统文化氛围浓厚的纳西族村落里长大的他，从八岁开始，就跟着爷爷学习东巴字，诵读东巴经书。至今，已经是第42个年头了。他用自己毕生的力量创立了乡村东巴学校 。特别让我感动的是关于时间的一段故事。 二、 祖母给妈妈讲过一个故事，母亲又将这个故事传给了我：从前，有一个女儿，她走遍了云南大大小小的集市，只为买到时间。她迫切地想留住妈妈的岁月，希望妈妈永远不会老去。然而，她发现，无论怎么努力，无论跑到哪里,都买不到时间和陪伴，因为它们是无形且无价、弥足珍贵的。故事终究是故事，传说也只是传说。或许她未曾发现,事实上,她一直在寻找的,她己拥有过…

Yesterday I travelled to Ludian to visit the Dongba master, He Guisheng. Born into a Dongba lineage in Ludian, He Guisheng grew up in a Naxi village steeped in the traditions of his people. From the age of eight, he began learning the Dongba script from his grandfather, reciting the sacred Dongba scriptures. This year marks his forty-second year.

With a lifetime’s devotion, he founded a rural Dongba school. What moved me most deeply, however, was a story about time.

My grandmother once told a story to my mother, and my mother passed it on to me:

Once, there was a daughter who journeyed through every market in Yunnan — great and small — searching for one thing alone: time. She longed, desperately, to hold back her mother’s years, to keep her from ever growing old. Yet she discovered that no matter how hard she strove, no matter how far she roamed, she could never buy time, nor could she purchase companionship. For time and presence are invisible, priceless, and irreplaceable beyond measure.

A story is, after all, only a story. A legend is only a legend. But perhaps — though she never realised it — what she had been searching for all along, she had already possessed…
