Carrying with me the Dongba pictographic script — the only living ‘living fossil’ of humanity’s written language, tracing the very origins and evolution of human writing, a treasured UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage — I walked through Siena, Italy, a city itself crowned as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

How blessed I feel to be so fortunate that, in one lifetime, I can dwell in the two countries that hold the most World Heritage sites on earth. China and Italy.
