Today in Leiden, the Netherlands, it felt as though I had stepped straight into the 17th century. Hundreds of elders, young people, and children donned period costumes together, transforming the entire city into a breathing, living *Night Watch*. They were not performing — they were earnestly safeguarding their own history and culture.

What moved me most were the elderly.

They did not let age slow their steps; instead, with passion, creativity, and sheer vitality, they turned history into the most vivid portrait of today. It dawned on me that true youth does not reside in one’s years, but in a heart that still chooses to love life, to create beauty, and to inspire others.

Wandering through the streets, every corner felt like a passage through time. This was not history behind museum glass — this was culture alive in the everyday. Such playfulness, such inventiveness — and so deeply moving.
